Aero-X AG protects a tunnel boring machine, which is used for the construction of a 1.4 km long highway tunnel in Gdansk. The project covers the supply of Stat-X^® aerosol fire to protect various technical areas of the tunnel boring machine, which has a diameter of 12.56 meters.

As part of a section of a highway, that among other things will connect the airport with the seaport of Gdansk, currently a motorway tunnel, which will pass under the Vistula, is being constructed.

Various technical areas of the tunnel boring machine, which is used for the realization of this tunnel, are protected with Stat-X^® aerosol fire suppression systems. All areas will be monitored by a control panel in the control cabin of the tunnel boring machine. In an emergency the relevant Stat-X^® extinguishing system is released in the respective area.
 
The safety of the extinguishing agent as well as the robust and compact design of the Stat-X^® aerosol generators, in addition to economic aspects were in combination with the vast experience of in protecting tunnel boring machines, decisive for the contract award.
